How to Restore the iPhone When Not Booting Up
- 1). Connect the docking cable to the iPhone's docking port, and connect the opposite end of the cable to the USB port on the computer. The docking cable has a wide, flat end that goes into the iPhone and a USB end that requires a 2.0 computer port.
- 2). Run iTunes on your Mac or PC, and click the name of the iPhone in the program's window to access the phone's properties.
- 3). Click the "Restore" button in the Summary area of the iPhone's properties window. Click "Back up" on the dialog box to back up your iPhone prior to restoring it.
- 4). Click the "Restore" button on the dialog box to start the device restoration process. Type your administrator password into the pop-up box to confirm you wish to restore the iPhone, and click "OK."
- 5). Click "Continue" in the Setup Assistant window, and click the "Restore from backup" option in the window.
- 6). Click the pull-down menu and click the latest backup date for your iPhone, and click the "Continue" button to open the backup file and transfer your previously saved information to the iPhone.
- 7). Click the "Eject" button by the iPhone's icon in iTunes after the restoration is complete to safely disconnect the device.
