How to Polish Sanderson Ceramic Headers
- 1). Remove the ceramic header from the vehicle. Use a wrench to loosen and remove any bolts holding the header in place. Gently twist the header away from the rest of the exhaust system to release it from the vehicle. Set the header on a soft cloth or old towel for cleaning and polishing.
- 2). Clean the surface of the ceramic header before polishing to remove dirt and contaminants that can scratch the surface of the header. Use warm water, a mild soap and a soft cloth or sponge. You may need to clean the surface several times to remove all grease and dirt. Dry the ceramic header with a soft towel before polishing.
- 3). Place a small amount of ceramic polish or aluminum polish onto a soft cloth. Buff into the surface of the ceramic header using small circular motions. Polish the entire surface until it is returned to a high gloss shine.
- 4). Rub a chrome scratch remover into any scratches that are present on the ceramic header. Make sure to use a scratch remover that is clear coat safe. If it is not, it may rub too deeply into the surface of the ceramic and make the scratches worse rather than better. Use a circular motion to gently buff out scratches. Wipe away any remaining residue with a soft cloth to buff the ceramic header to a high gloss shine.
- 5). Re-install the newly polished ceramic header.
