How to Decrypt Encrypted Files

    • 1). Boot your computer and log in using your user name and password. Click the Windows "Start" button and type the name of the file in the search text box.

    • 2). Press "Enter" to open a window that points to the location of your file. Right-click the listed file and select "Properties." Click the "General" tab, if this tab is not shown by default.

    • 3). Click the "Advanced" button. A new window opens. Remove the check mark next to "Encrypt contents to secure data" and click "OK." The file decrypts, and it is available by anyone who has access to the computer.
