How to Turn Off Menu Effects in Vista

    • 1). Click "Start," type "Advanced System Settings" -- without quotes -- and press "Enter."

    • 2). Click "Advanced" and then the "Settings" button under "Performance."

    • 3). Click the "Visual Effects" tab.

    • 4). Uncheck the boxes next to "Fade or slide menus into view" and "Fade out menu items after clicking."

    • 5). Click "Apply" to turn off the menu effects in Windows Vista.
