How to Replace an HP Photosmart 230 Ink Cartridge

    • 1). Make sure the printer is turned on and in an area with plenty of light.

    • 2). Open the printer for access to the ink. This is a relatively small printer and the entire front half opens forward. Grip above the paper feed, hold the back half for stability and pull forward.

    • 3). Remove the old ink by holding each cartridge and pulling straight up. Place the new cartridges in the same color slots and push down until you hear a "click."

    • 4). Close the printer, wait for the whirring to stop and print a page or photo to test the new ink.
