How to Replace a Gateway Keyboard

    • 1). Turn off your Gateway computer and unplug it from its power source.

    • 2). Turn the computer over and open the battery door with the flat-head screwdriver. Remove the battery from the casing.

    • 3). Turn the Gateway computer right side up and pry open the bezel at the top of the keyboard with the flat-head screwdriver. Remove the bezel from the computer.

    • 4). Unscrew the four screws that are at the top of the keyboard.

    • 5). Pull the keyboard away from the computer at the top and disconnect the keyboard plug from the keyboard connector.

    • 6). Place the new keyboard on the computer, face down, and plug the new keyboard plug into the keyboard connector.

    • 7). Place the keyboard into the tabs near the mouse pad and lay the keyboard flat.

    • 8). Replace the keyboard screws and snap the front bezel into place, then replace the battery.
