- 1). Unplug the eMac and remove the hex screws from the bottom and sides of the unit.
- 2). Lift the case off the unit. Disconnect the exposed power cable.
- 3). Disconnect the speaker cable from the unit and lift off the speaker assembly.
- 4). Disconnect the fan cable, remove the fan screws and remove the main cable and earth wire from inside the unit.
- 5). Unscrew the EMT shield from the eMac. Disconnect the video cable and remove the screws holding the old hard drive in position. Disconnect the IDE and power cables from the back of the drive. Insert the new drive in its place and reconnect the IDE and power cables to complete the swap.
