How to Configure an Ethernet Port
- 1). Click the "Windows" logo in the bottom-left corner of the desktop (also known as the "Start" button). Type "Device Manager" in the search box. Press "Enter" to open the "Device Manager" dialog window.
- 2). Expand the "Network Adapters" category. Right-click on the Ethernet adapter. Select "Properties" from the menu, which opens another dialog box.
- 3). Click the "General" tab. Click the "Change Settings" button at the bottom of the tab, if available. A new dialog box appears, providing a greater selection of "configuration" tabs for the Ethernet port. Click on and off each tab to review the available options and then make the necessary changes, as needed.

- 2). Right-click on "Local Area Connection." Select "Properties" from the menu, which opens a dialog box.
- 3). Click the "Networking" tab. Select the "Configure" button, if available, which opens a new dialog box. Click on and off the tabs to review the configuration options and make selections.
