How Do You Sync ToDo's to Your IPhone?
- The iPhone interface offers a few ways to keep track of things you need to do; you can simply type it out in the Notes application, or download one of the many applications developed specifically for to-do lists from the iTunes Store. But the cheapest and easiest way to sync to-do lists with your iPhone is to use the calendar programs that are already right on your computer. For Mac users, open up iCal, pick a date, double-click and add your to-do. You can even set a specific time and send attachments regarding the to-do. For PC users, you can do the same thing with Microsoft Outlook calendars. It makes the most sense to keep track of your to-dos on a calendar anyway, and the interface for syncing with your iPhone makes this by far the best option.
- Once your to-dos are set up in your calendar programs, the hard part is finished. From there, just connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. Select your iPhone from the "Devices" column and click the "Info" tab. There you'll see a list of things that you can sync. Just scroll down to "Calendars" and check the box for "Sync iCal Calendars" or "Sync Outlook Calendars." Click on the "Apply" button and just wait for the sync to finish.
- After the sync is complete, just open up the Calendar application on your iPhone. Each of the to-dos you added in iCal or Outlook will be right where you entered them, signified by a dot on each date that has a to-do item. Touch the date to bring up the details of your to-do or event. It's as simple as that. If you need to change the details of a to-do or add another one away from your computer, you can do that right on the phone by touching the date and then touching the "+" icon.
