How to Remove the ScanDisk Tool

    • 1). Click the Start menu and choose "Run..."

    • 2). Type "regedit" (without the quotes) and press the "Enter" key. This will launch your Windows Registry Editor.

    • 3). Navigate to the following registry in the left pane: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" \ "SYSTEM" \ "CurrentControlSet" \ "Control" \ "Session Manager."

    • 4). Right-click "BootExecute" and choose "Modify..."

    • 5). Change the "Value Data" from "autocheck autochk * /r\DosDevice\<drive letter>:" to "autocheck autochk *" (without the quotes).

    • 6). Exit Windows Registry Editor. Reboot your computer to end the task.
