How to Stop WinAntiSpyware
- 1). Right-click on the taskbar and choose "Task Manager" from the pop-up menu.
- 2). Click on the "Process" tab in the Task Manager.
- 3). Sort through the list of running processes in the window and click WinAntiSpyware processes to highlight them. Click the "End Process" button and then click "Yes" to stop them.
The following processes are associated with WinAntiSpyware: winantispyware2007.exe; winantispyware2006setup.exe; wasffnt.exe; winantispyware2006freesetup.exe; was6.exe; uwasffnt.exe; stera.exe; updater.exe; and insthelp.exe - 1). Click "Start" and then click "Run". Type "regedit" into the box and click "OK" to open the registry editor.
- 2). Look in the left-hand window. Registry entries are organized like folders. A key will list the names of each folder to the right of the folder containing it. To delete "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\currentcontrolset\services\uwasfsd " start in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" then go to "system,", "currentcontrolset" and then "services". When you get into the "services" folder, scroll down and click on the folder labeled "uwasfsd." Press the delete key on your keyboard to delete the entry.
- 3). Delete all of the following registry entries:

- 2). Search for the following files one at a time, proceeding to Step 3 when a file is found: winantispyware2007.exe; asagents.dll; shellext.dll; uwas6chk.dll; was6chk.dll; winantispyware2006setup.exe; wasffnt.exe; winantispyware2006freesetup.exe; was6.exe; uwasffnt.exe; stera.exe; updater.exe; and, insthelp.exe. Not every file in this list may be found.
- 3). Delete each file as it is found. You can attempt to locate other files on the list without searching by right-clicking the file and then clicking "Open Containing Folder." This will open the folder that holds the file, and you can delete any other files from the list found with it. After all the files you can locate have been deleted, go back to Step 2 and search for the next undeleted file on the list.
