How to Create a Administrator Account in XP Home

    • 1). Log in to a Windows XP Home Edition computer with the credentials of an account that has Administrator permissions to access the computer.

    • 2). Click "Start," click "Control Panel" and then click "User Accounts" in Category View. Click "Create a new account."

    • 3). Type the name for the new administrator account in the "Type a name for the new account" text in the "User Accounts" window that appears. Click "Next."

    • 4). Click the "Computer administrator" radio button in the "Pick an account type" screen and click the "Create Account" button.

    • 5). Click "Start," click "Control Panel" and then click "User Accounts." Click on the new administrator account in the "User Accounts" window.

    • 6). Click "Create a password" and the enter a password for the new account in the "Type a new password" text box. Enter the same password for the new account again in the "Type a new password again to confirm" text box. Click the "Create Password" button.
