How to Backup a User Profile Status on Windows XP
- 1). Click the Windows XP "Start" button. Select "Run." In the text box, enter "C:\Documents and Settings\" into the text box and press "Enter." This opens an Explorer window with a list of user account directories.
- 2). Right-click the directory with your user account name and select "Copy." Each account has its own separate directory. You can also copy multiple user account directories by holding the "Ctrl" key and using the mouse to select the profile directory.
- 3). Click the Windows XP "Start" button again and select "Computer." Right-click your drive with the blank CD or DVD and select "Paste." This creates a backup of your Windows XP profile.
