How to Reset a PC Password on XP

    • 1). Close all open applications and programs to avoid loss of work.

    • 2). Go to “Start” then “Control Panel.” This will bring up all the features of your computer that can be customized.

    • 3). Locate the icon that says “User Accounts” and double click. You will now see all of the users allowed to access the computer and the settings associated with each user.

    • 4). Select “Computer Administrator” and click once. The computer administrator controls all of the passwords and users of the computer.

    • 5). Click “Change Password” to access the password features. You will now be asked to enter your current password and your new password. Once finished, click “Save.” Your password has now been changed.
