After you install the program and launch it on your device, you can choose between one of several ad hoc connection options -- WiFi, Beam, Bluetooth and USB. Once you select the option, your phone will act as an ad hoc router. You can can share files and the Internet connection between the device and your computer.

    • 2). Connectify's ad hoc program is used by making your laptop a Wi-Fi hot spot. Once the program is installed, you can establish the connection between your phone and computer. The application lets you connect an unlimited number of devices that are able to connect to Wi-Fi networks. Once you install Connectify, you enter Wi-Fi settings and click "Start." You click "Stop" to end the connection.

    • 3). PdaNet lets you create ad hoc connections over a Bluetooth or USB connection. The program is designed to be used on mobile devices running the Android operating system. It lets users create an ad hoc connection and share a single Internet connection. Once launched on your computer, configure the application, including choosing whether to automatically launch when you connect the USB cable to your computer.
