How to Boost the Sound for the iPod on a Receiver

    • 1). Connect your Apple iPod to the your audio receiver. Depending on the receiver, you can either plug it into the iPod dock or connect the AV adapter to the power port on the bottom of the iPod.

    • 2). Power on the device and the Apple iPod. You may need to adjust the receiver to play from the iPod instead of a CD or cassette. You will see either an "iPod" or "Aux" button to adjust the receiver to play from your MP3 player.

    • 3). Select a song on your iPod and play it. Listen to the music for a few moments to adjust the volume to the desired level.

    • 4). Press the volume button on the Apple iPod and adjust it to full. This sends the loudest signal to the receiver.

    • 5). Fine-tune the audio with the volume control on the receiver. This is the only control you need to boost the sound of the audio while the iPod is playing.
