Western Digital 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive Directions
- 1). Set the external drive onto a flat surface within cable reach of your computer.
- 2). Turn on your PC and wait for the system to load the operating system and display your system desktop.
- 3). Connect the Western Digital 1 TB Passport external drive to your computer by plugging the smaller connector on the end of the USB cable into the socket at the rear of the drive. Plug the larger end of the cable into a free USB port on your computer.
- 4). Wait for the operating system to acknowledge the presence of the Passport drive and add the drive to the available hardware for your system.
- 5). Open your Windows Explorer and click on the new drive listed under the "My Computer" section.
- 6). Remove the drive by right-clicking on the Remove Hardware icon in your system tray located on the Windows Toolbar. Scroll down to the drive name under "Eject," then click on the drive. Verify the removal and wait for the system to indicate the drive is safe to disconnect. Pull the USB plug from the port to remove the drive from the system.
