- 1). Click the "Start" button, then scroll over the "All Programs" option. Click on "Windows Update."
- 2). Click on "Review your update history" from the Windows Update window. Click on the most recent entry to find a date of installation.
- 3). Go through the list of updates and view the status of all your updates from the "Status" column. If the icon is red next to an update, it was not installed. If the icon is green, it was installed.
- 4). Click the "Start" button, then click the "Run" button for another way to view an installation log file. The Run window will appear.
- 5). Enter "%Windir%\KBnnnnnn.log" (without quotes) into the "Open" field and press "Enter" on your keyboard. You can then view a log file of your XP hard drive installation history.
