How to Improve Rotation on an iPhone

    • 1). Define the orientation that you would like to fix. Point your iPhone's top edge upward to view everything in portrait orientation. Alternatively, rotate your device so that its top edge points left or right to view your display in landscape orientation.

    • 2). Double-press the circular "Home" button below your iPhone's display. On an iPhone 3GS or newer, this will summon up your multitasking bar at the bottom of the screen.

    • 3). Swipe over your multitasking bar from left to right. This will reveal your iPod controls.

    • 4). Tap the "Rotation Lock" icon on the extreme left, which looks like an arrow going around a circle. When a padlock appears within the circle, your iPhone will be locked in the orientation you desire.
