How to Reinstall Wndows XP

    • 1). Turn off your computer.

    • 2). Insert the Windows XP disk and restart your computer.

    • 3). Press any key to boot from the CD if prompted. Some computers will automatically boot from the CD.

    • 4). Read the Windows XP licensing agreement and press F8 to "Agree."

    • 5). Press "Enter" to select "unpartitioned space."

    • 6). Press "Enter" to select "format the partition using the NTFS file system," which will appear by default. Windows XP will now erase your hard drive. This process will take 20 to 30 minutes.

    • 7). Click "Next" to accept the regional and language options once your computer restarts.

    • 8). Personalize your software by entering your name and/or organization on the next screen. Click "Next."

    • 9). Enter your product key and click "Next."

      Enter your computer name on the next screen. This name can be anything you choose. If you wish to have an administrator password, enter it now. Then click "Next."

      Choose your time zone on the next screen and then click "Next."

      Select "Typical settings" on the following screen and click "Next."

      Select the appropriate option on the Workgroup or Computer Domain page and click "Next." Windows XP will now configure your computer and restart when it is finished. This takes 20 to 30 minutes.

      Select how the computer will connect to the Internet, activate Windows XP and register with Microsoft once your computer restarts. Click "Finish" and Window XP will be completely installed.
