- 1). Download the latest version of HandBrake from the HandBrake website (handbrake.fr/downloads.php).
- 2). Double-click on the "HandBrake" icon and insert the DVD you want to rip into your computer's disc drive.
- 3). Highlight the DVD's icon in the pop-up window that appears and click "Open" to select it as the ripping source.
- 4). Open the "Format" drop-down menu and choose the "MP4 file" option.
- 5). Click on the "Browse" button.
- 6). Enter a name for the MP4 file you are creating and navigate to the location on your hard drive where you want to save it. Click "OK" when you are done.
- 7). Press the "Start" button at the top of the window to start ripping the DVD into an MP4 file. Depending on how long the movie is, the ripping process can take up to two hours.
