Plug the Cruzer into an available USB port on your computer. USB ports are recognizable by a three-branched symbol. - 2). Watch the exterior light on the flash drive. If it lights up, the Cruzer is getting power from the USB port. If it doesn't light, move it to another USB port and try again.
- 3). Watch the screen. On a Windows computer, you should get a message telling you that a "Removable media has been detected". It will ask you what to do; you can choose to open it, or ignore it. On a Mac, the drive will appear on the desktop with an icon that includes the USB symbol.
- 4). Drag whatever files you would like onto the Cruzer's icon. This will copy them to the flash drive. If you need to find the Cruzer on a PC, it is set by default to mount as your E: drive. If it doesn't appear there, look under your other drive letters.
- 5). Eject the disk when the files have finished copying. On a Mac, you can drag the disk to the trash. On a PC, right-click on the disk's icon and select "Eject."
- 6). Disconnect the drive from the computer. Your files are now stored on the Cruzer and may be taken with you in your pocket.
