• 1). Hold down the Sleep/Wake button on the top-left corner of the device, until the unit turns off. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button to turn the iPod back on and finish resetting the device.
  
  
• 2). Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button (touch) or the "-" volume button (nano) simultaneously.
  
  
• 3). Release the buttons after Apple's logo displays.
  
  

Click Wheel

• 1). Slide the Hold switch on. When toggled on, orange appears on the left side of the switch.
  
  
• 2). Slide the Hold switch off.
  
  
• 3). Hold down "Menu" and the selection button, located in the middle of the click wheel.
  
  
• 4). Release the buttons when Apple's logo appears.
