- 1). Use your iPod's power USB cable to connect it to the new computer. Note that this only works with PC-to-PC or Mac-to-Mac because the iPod is formatted differently for each.
- 2). Open iTunes and wait a moment for a box to pop up. Choose "Cancel;" do not choose "Erase and sync" or your iPod will be wiped and started from scratch.
- 3). Select your iPod from the "Devices" list portion of iTunes, then select "Summary" to show the iPod's basic options. Check "Manually manage music and videos," then click "Apply" in the bottom right. Your iPod is now in manual mode.
- 4). Add content from this new iTunes by dragging it from iTunes to the iPod. Select multiple songs by holding down "Shift" when selecting. Leave the iPod plugged in while the music is added to its library.
