How to Get to the Music Files in an iPod

    • 1). Open an Internet browser and enter the URL for the ephPod CopyTrans application into the address bar (See Resources).

    • 2). Scroll down the page and click the "Download CopyTrans" button near the bottom of the page.

    • 3). Click the "Download" button to proceed to the next step.

    • 4). Click the "Download CopyTrans Suite" link to start the software download and save the file to the computer hard drive.

    • 5). Double-click the CopyTrans installation file, accept the licensing agreement and complete the installation to the computer.

    • 6). Click the Windows "Start" button and select the CopyTrans program link to open the application. CopyTrans will test the Internet connection.

    • 7). Select the first option, "CopyTrans v3.29", from the CopyTrans menu. Once the application has started, a message indicating, "It is now safe to connect your iPod" will appear.

    • 8). Plug the iPod into the USB connector, and then plug the USB connector into the computer. Once the iPod has registered on the computer and the iPod data will display in the CopyTrans interface, the music (and other) files may be managed, copied and deleted from within CopyTrans.

    • 9). Select the songs or playlists to manage. To save music files to the computer hard drive, highlight the files and click the "Folder" option in the "Backup To" section, and then specify a folder on the computer.
