- 1). Press and hold the "Power" button for two seconds. Wait for the default screen to appear.
- 2). Check the number in the upper left-hand corner. This is the water depth, and the default setting is in feet. The small number next to it is the water temperature, in Fahrenheit. As the boat moves, the depth reading will change to reflect the water under the boat.
- 3). Press the "Zoom In" or "Zoom Out" buttons to zero in for close-up views of the screen. Position the cursor with the four arrow buttons to get to the section of the screen you want to enlarge or reduce.
- 4). Press the "View" key to scroll through the 997 display options. The button takes you through 15 different views, one for each time you press the button, until you reach the default starting screen view.
- 5). Look for large red lines at the bottom of the screen. This indicates the water bottom. Groups of multicolor fish icons indicate schooling fish, and larger single-color icons represent large fish under the boat.
