How to Configure Routing & Remote Access on Windows XP

    • 1). Log on to your PC computer with an account that has administrative privileges.

    • 2). Open the Start menu and click on the "Control Panel" icon.

    • 3). Open the "Administrative Tools" folder and then double-click on the "Services" icon. A new window will open with a list of all the system services available in Windows XP.

    • 4). Scroll down through the list and double-click on the entry labeled "Routing and Remote Access."

    • 5). Go to the "General" tab at the top of the pop-up window. You will see that the service is currently disabled.

    • 6). Open the "Startup Type" drop-down menu and select "Automatic." Then press "Apply" to save the settings and enable the Routing & Remote Access service. Now every time that your computer boots up, the service will automatically start.

    • 7). Click on the "Start" button and then the "OK" button to begin using the Routing & Remote Access tool right away.
