• Sketch out your mosaic design before beginning the project to determine the color, size and number of tiles you will need. Tiles can be found in most craft stores. Decide the base on which you will build your design. Wood, glass and metal are all common bases. The type of adhesive needed will depend on the base you are using and where the mosaic will be used (i.e. outside in varying weather conditions or inside near a heating surface). Example adhesives include craft glue and cement. Tools are necessary, such as a paintbrush to apply glue and tweezers to handle small tiles. Use grout to finish off the piece.
