How to Make Beaded Vintage Jewelry

    • 1). Cut the nylon thread to 2 inches longer than the desired length of the necklace. It should be long enough to slip over your head easily. The hinge of the clasp on the brooch forms a small loop. Tie one end of the thread in a double knot around this loop to secure the brooch to the thread.

    • 2). Apply super glue to the double knot to secure it. On the other side of the clasp, apply a dot of glue to bind the brooch closed. Allow to dry.

    • 3). Add the pearls to the nylon thread, leaving an inch of extra thread at the end. Loop the excess thread around the clasp, directly opposite the first double knot you made. Tie another double knot to close the necklace.

    • 4). Apply a dot of glue on the new knot to secure it. Allow it to dry. Trim off any excess thread.

    • 5). Tie the silk ribbon in a bow about one-quarter of the way around the necklace from the brooch.
