General Herbicide Storage Tips
- Liquid selective herbicides should always be stored in their original containers. Fasten caps, especially childproof caps, tightly. Keep out of reach of children and domestic pets. While freezing does not affect liquid selective herbicides, do not store them at extremely cold temperatures.
- Most dry selective herbicides are sold in "weed and feed" formulas along with fertilizer. Partially used of products containing dry selective herbicides should be tightly reclosed and taped shut and then placed in an empty bag such as a garbage bag. Store all packages of dry selective herbicides, even those that are factory sealed, away from other fertilizers and pesticides, as well as away from seeds and any food products (including pet foods). Store dry selective herbicides and products containing them in a cool, dry place, out of the reach of children or pets.
- Glyphosate based herbicides should be stored far from plants and seeds, as well as being kept from contaminating other pesticides, herbicides and household chemicals. These herbicides must be stored far from food, including pet food. Keep out of the way of children and pets. Seal all containers tightly.
- Dry glyphosate based herbicides should be stored in their original container, far from food and drink. Do not store the container on a wet floor. Keep dry glyphosate herbicide containers tightly closed, far from the reach of children and pets.
