How to Synchronize an iPhone & Outlook
- 1). Download and install the iTunes media player from the official Apple site (see Resources for link).
- 2). Plug the iPhone's USB cable into the dock port on the iPhone. According to the official Apple site, the dock port is on the bottom of the iPhone between the speakers. Plug the other end of the USB cable into an open USB port on your computer.
- 3). Run the iTunes program on your computer if it does not start immediately after plugging in the iPhone. Select the iPhone's icon in the iTunes source pane on the left side of the iTunes window.
- 4). Click the Info tab at the top of the program window, and check the box next to "Sync Contacts From." Click "Outlook" and click "All contacts" or "Selected groups" in the sub-menu. Select the checkbox next to the groups you want to sync with your iPhone if you choose "Selected groups," according to the official Microsoft site.
- 5). Select the checkbox next to "Sync calendars from Microsoft Outlook." Click the circle next to "All calendars" or "Selected calendars," and select the calendars you want to sync for the latter option.
- 6). Click Apply to save your new Outlook synchronization settings. Eject the iPhone by clicking the Eject button next to the iPhone's icon in the iTunes source pane, or in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window underneath the Apply button.
