How to Add an Icon to the Start Menu

    • 1). Click on an icon and drag it to the "Start" button. This will automatically add it to the "Start" menu.

    • 2). Right-click on the Task Bar and select "Properties."

    • 3). Click the "Start Menu" tab.

    • 4). Click "Customize" under "Start Menu." The following screen will show you a list of icons to display in the Start menu. If you have Windows XP, click the "Advanced Tab" after clicking "Customize." Select the icons you want displayed and click "OK."

    • 5). Pin an icon to the Start menu. Pinning a program to the Start menu will keep it there until you manually remove it. Right-click on a program and select "Pin to Start Menu."
