How to Add Files to an iPod

    Setup

    • 1). Update iTunes from the Apple website. Once complete, launch iTunes and connect the iPod using the USB cord that came with the device.

    • 2). Click the iPod's name located under "Devices" in the left column of the iTunes window.

    • 3). At the top of the larger window on the right, click the category (Music, Podcasts, Books, Photos, Info) that contains the files you want to add to the iPod.

    Music

    • 1). Click on the "Music" tab. Click "Sync Music" to add music files to the iPod.

    • 2). Click "Entire Music Library" to add all of your music files to the iPod, or "Selected Playlists, Artists, Albums, and Genres" to select specific files.

    • 3). Click the check box next to each playlist, artist, genre or album to add it to the iPod.

    • 4). Once complete, click "Sync" located in the lower right corner to add the files, or move on to the next tab to add more files.

    Podcasts

    • 1). Click the "Podcasts" tab and "Sync Podcasts" to choose which podcast files to add to the iPod.

    • 2). Click "Automatically Include" and filter the podcast files by clicking on the drop down boxes. Click "All Podcasts" to transfer all of the podcast files to your iPod.

    • 3). Click "Selected Podcasts" and click the check box next to each podcast file to add to the iPod.

    • 4). Once complete, click "Sync" located in the lower right corner to add the files, or move on to the next tab to add more files.

    Books

    • 1). Click the "Books" tab; then click the check box next to "Sync Audio Books" to add the book files to your iPod.

    • 2). Click "All Audio Books" to add all of the audio book files to the iPod or, click "Selected Audio Books" and then click the check box next to each audio book file to add it to the iPod.

    • 3). Once complete, click "Sync" located in the lower right corner to add the files, or move on to the next tab to add more files.

    Photos

    • 1). Click the "Photos" tab; then click the check box next to "Sync Photos From."

    • 2). Click on the drop down box and then "Choose Folder." Maneuver to the image file, click it, and then click "Select Folder." The folder name now appears next to "Sync Photos From."

    • 3). To transfer all of the image files, click "All Folders." To specify which files to add to the iPod, click "Selected Folders," and then click the check box next to the folder.

    • 4). Once complete, click "Sync" located in the lower right corner to add the files, or move on to the next tab to add more files.
