How to Restore Windows XP to a Certain Day

    • 1). Log on to Windows using an account with administrator privileges. Right click the "Start" button. If you see "Open All Users" and "Explore All Users," then you have the necessary administrator rights.

    • 2). Click the "Start" button and then click "All Programs."

    • 3). Click "Accessories" and then click "System Tools."

    • 4). Click "System Restore."

    • 5). Select "Restore my Computer to an Earlier Time" and then click "Next."

    • 6). Select the desired date from the calendar, then select the desired system restore point from the "On this List, Click a Restore Point" list. Choose the restore point from the last known time the system was functioning properly. Click "Next." A message may appear listing the configuration changes that will be made. Click "OK" to close the message.

    • 7). Click "Next" to confirm the restore point. The restoration will run and then the computer will restart automatically. The time this process takes will vary depending on the speed of the computer and other factors.

    • 9). Click "OK" when prompted on the "Restoration Complete" page.
