- 1). Click "Start" and type "regedit" into the "Search" box and press "Enter." The Registry Editor opens.
- 2). Click "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager" in the left pane of the Registry Editor.
- 3). Double-click "BootExecute" in the left pane of the Registry Editor.
- 4). Add "/k:C /k:D *" (without the quotation marks) to the end of the "Default Value." Thus, the final value should read "autocheck autochk /k:C /k:D *". Note that "C" and "D" refer to the C and D drives. If you have additional drives, you must add them accordingly. For example, if you have an E drive, then your final value with read "autocheck autochk /k:C /k:D /k:E *"
- 5). Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
