How to Remove a Rotor in a 2003 Lexus RX300

    • 1). Raise up the front of the vehicle using the jack and set it on jack stands. Make sure that the vehicle is solidly on the stands before crawling underneath it. Take off the front wheels using the tire iron and set them out of the workspace.

    • 2). Unbolt the brake caliper bracket from the steering knuckle using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket, then lift the assembly off of the rotor. Support the bracket by a wire hanger or a spare jack stand. Make sure that the brake line attached to the caliper is not twisted or supporting the weight of the bracket, or it could get damaged.

    • 3). Slide the rotor off of the wheel hub using both hands. If the rotor is frozen onto the hub, tighten the two 10 mm bolts into the threaded inserts on the center of the rotor by hand.
