- 1). Run hot tap water over the bottom of the print cartridge for 10 seconds. Thoroughly dry the cartridge with a microfiber cloth.
- 2). Reinstall the print cartridge and try to process a print job. If the ink jets are still clogged, submerge the bottom portion of the cartridge in a solution that is half hot water and half ammonia.
- 3). Leave the print cartridge in the ammonia and water solution for two hours, then remove and dry it off with a fresh microfiber cloth. Try printing with the cartridge again.
- 4). Boil water inside a tea kettle and hold the bottom of the ink cartridge so it is in the path of the steam. Place a container you do not need to keep under the ink cartridge to catch the ink as it comes loose.
- 5). Dry off the ink cartridge with a microfiber towel and allow it to sit for five minutes before reinstalling it in the printer.
