How to Design an iPhone Application

    • 1). Survey the applications available on the iTunes App Store. Feedback to apps will be available on the iTunes review pages, message boards, discussion threads, Mac-focused and tech magazines, and other publications. Find weaknesses or insufficiencies in the apps that are available.

    • 2). Brainstorm an app concept. Preferably, the app will touch on several of the unique capacities of the iPhone (Web access, media player), while remaining familiar.

    • 3). Draw a template for your application. Try to keep in mind an inexperienced user who has little time to adapt to a complicated design. Apple users usually place stock in intuitive, user-friendly designs.

    • 4). Compare your template to related applications. Incidentally, similarities in terminology or design might occur, but you will need to refine these out of your design to avoid copyright infringement.

    • 5). Write the code for your iPhone application. Consider hiring a technician to write the code for you. Upload the iPhone app to the iTunes App Store.
