- 1). Insert the Windows installation disc into the disc drive of the computer. If a dialog window appears, click the "X" button at the top right corner to close it.
- 2). Click "Start," then "Shut down," and select "Restart" from the pop-up list. Your computer will restart. Click any key on your keyboard when prompted by the system to start the Windows operating system from the installation disc.
- 3). Select your language from the options list and click "Next." Click "Repair your computer" and select your Windows operating system. The list of System Recovery options will appear.
- 4). Click the System Recovery option tool you want to use. For example, choose "System Restore" to restore your operating system to a previous point in time.
