Video: How to Put Ribbons on T-Shirts
Video Transcript
Hi, my name is Christina Gavenda with DomesticFelicity.com. And today, we¡¯re going to talk about how to put ribbons on T-shirts. For this project, you¡¯ll need a t-shirt, a couple different kinds of ribbon, a lighter to seal your ribbon ends, some scissors, and then some fusible tape that you can iron on, and your iron. I think it will be cute if we decorated the pocket. We¡¯re going to take our ribbon and use the pocket as our measurement for where to cut the ribbon. Then, using my first cut of ribbon, I¡¯m going to cut each piece following until I have four pieces. Next, I¡¯m going to seal the ends of my ribbon using the lighter. Next, we¡¯re going to cut four lengths of the fusible tape the same length as our ribbons. Next, we¡¯re going to lay out our fusible tape where we want the ribbon to be, paper side up. And then, I¡¯m going to take my iron ¨C set on medium, as the directions say ¨C and iron all four down. Once you have the tape completely bonded, peel off the paper, and we¡¯re going to iron on our ribbon on top of that. Now, we¡¯re going to do the exact same thing for all three other strips. The next step is to cut a bit of fusible tape, and we¡¯re going to iron it down right here above the corner of the pocket. And, I¡¯m going to take my blue ribbon and make a bow. Once your bow is pulled tight, take your scissors and cut your ribbon at an angle. Then, cut the other side of the tail about the same length. Then, we¡¯re going to seal our ends using the lighter. Our final step is to fuse the ribbon onto the fusible tape the same way that we fused the other ribbon. Going to peel off the paper, and take my ribbon, going to go in to iron it down. And, you¡¯re probably going to have to leave it here for several seconds. Make sure your iron¡¯s not on so hot that it will melt your ribbon. But, you also want it to get hot enough to fuse it to the tape. If you want extra hold for the bow, you can always add fabric glue, or stitch it on. Thanks so much for watching! My name¡¯s Christina, and today we talked about how to put ribbons on t-shirts.
