How to Hide the Carrier Logo on an iPhone
- 1). Hook up your iPhone to your computer with the connector cable. Open up the iTunes program and view your iPhone inside that program. This is where you're going to be making the changes to your iPhone to eliminate the carrier logo.
- 2). Right-click your iPhone in the "Devices" toolbar. A drop-down menu will show up and you need to select the "Back Up" option and left-click it. This will make a back up of your iPhone as is.
- 3). Download and install iBackup Bot. A free sample of this program can be found with a quick Internet search. Don't worry about the limited time, since this is a one-time use, and you don't need to run out and buy a copy of the software.
- 4). Close iTunes. Open iBackup Bot and look for your latest backup that you just made. Once the backup is open you want to find the line that reads "Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist." Double-click that line and click "Cancel" on the first pop-up message.
- 5). Type in the following:
<key>SBFakeCarrier</key>
<string>Your custom carrier here</string>
This should be put into the code below "<dict>." - 6). Save these changes and then close the pop-up window. Click "File" on the toolbar and then click "Restore." A pop-up message will ask if you're sure; click "Yes." The changed backup will download onto your iPhone, and the carrier logo will be whatever you type in with the code.
