- 1). Click on the "Start" menu in the Windows task bar. Click "Computer."
- 2). Click on your primary hard drive. This is usually the "C" drive. Click "Windows" from within the "C" drive.
- 3). Click "System32." Right-click on the dllhost.exe file.
- 4). Click "Properties." Click on the "Security" tab.
- 5). Click "Advanced" under the permissions heading. By default, dllhost.exe is read-only, and you do not have the permissions to modify or delete it.
- 6). Enter your administrator password if prompted.
- 7). Click on the "Effective Permissions" tab and select "Full Control." This gives you the ability to delete the file. Click "OK."
- 8). Right-click on the dllhost.exe file again and select "delete."
