How to Use Wrote Pad for iPhone
- 1). Tap on the WritePad icon on your iPhone screen to open the application. Go to "Settings" and slide "Auto Learner" to "On," which will allow the application to analyze your handwriting and adjust over time. Slide "Single Word Only" to "On" as well if you will be writing in print rather than cursive, then return to the main menu.
- 2). Open or start a new document by selecting it from the main menu, and tap the "handwriting" icon. Slide "Draw Gridlines" to "On;" the lines will help you keep your writing straight. Practice writing a few words on the screen with your pointer finger, keeping your phone horizontal. Write large, taking one line per word if necessary, and keep the words horizontal and separated so the application recognizes it. If you make a mistake, swipe horizontally from left to right, then right to left, in one motion to cut.
- 3). Read the finished typed phrase to see if it matches what you wrote. If a word is incorrect, select "Alternatives," then "Spell Check," and choose the right word from the list. With time, the application's "Auto Learner" will use this information in reading your handwriting.
- 4). Switch from handwriting to typing with the icons in the upper right corner of the window. Drag your finger left or right over a word to highlight and edit it, or double tap the word. Once a typed word is highlighted, hand write a new word in the blank white space to replace the word.
- 5). Undo or redo actions you have made by shaking your iPhone and clearing the screen. Swipe down, then up in a U shape to pull up the punctuation keyboard, which offers 32 punctuation characters. Tap the one you need to insert it into your text.
