How to Replace Wristwatch Batteries
- 1). Turn the watch over and look for a small depression under the cover. Insert the edge of a small flat-head screwdriver into this depression and pry the cover off. Note that some wristwatch covers are screwed in. Use an adjustable watch case wrench to unscrew the cover. This tool is available from jewelry supplies retailers.
- 2). Locate the battery. The battery is silver, small and round, resembling the shape of a pill. It is usually held in place with a clip.
- 3). Move the clip aside gently and pry the battery out with the screwdriver.
- 4). Purchase a battery that is exactly like the old one. Take the old battery with you to ensure you purchase the proper replacement. The set of three or four numbers at the back of the battery should match the numbers on the packaging for the new battery.
- 5). Place the new battery into the watch. The positive side of the battery, with a plus sign on it, should face into the watch.
- 6). Push the clip over the battery to hold it in place. Replace the cover.
