How to Make Hockey Trees
- 1). Cut the following lengths of PVC pipe using your saw: seven 12-inch, two 2-inch, four 14-inch, six 3.75-inch, three 6.25-inch, two 7.5-inch and six 6-inch lengths.
- 2). Insert one 12-inch length into each side of your tee-pipe fitting. Insert one 2-inch length into the bottom slot of the tee fitting. Cap each 12-inch length. Repeat this process once with another tee fitting.
- 3). Assemble the tree's crossbars. Insert one 3.75-inch piece into each side of another tee fitting. Insert a 6.25-inch piece into the bottom slot of this tee. Insert the opposite end of the 6.25-inch piece into another tee fitting. In this second tee fitting, insert another 3.75-inch length of PVC pipe. Repeat this process twice.
- 4). Install the lower crossbar. Insert the exposed end of the 2-inch plug of one base assembly into the bottom hole of the corresponding tee fitting. Insert the exposed end of the 2-inch plug of the other base assembly into the side hole of the opposite tee fitting on the other side of the cross bar. Complete this process four times to form all crossbars needed for the project.
- 5). Install the top crossbar. Insert one 14-inch length of PVC into the left and right tee holes of the lower crossbar. Place a 90-degree PVC elbow on each vertical PVC length. Insert one 7.5-inch length into each PVC elbow. Connect the two resulting PVC ends with another tee fitting.
- 6). Install helmet and equipment supports. Place one 6-inch piece of PVC into the bottom hole of each exposed tee fitting. These lengths will face upward toward the ceiling. Cap each of these lengths.
