Beware It Is Election Time At Kendriya Vihar

Kendriya Vihar where I live is one of the biggest colonies at NOIDA, a satellite town near Delhi.
Kendriya Vihar is a colony of Central Government employees who belong to various nook and corners of India.
People from different states with diverse culture, language, cuisine and life style live here with harmony.
Hence we call it as mini India.
The allottees of this colony have formed an association which is called as 'Kendriya Vihar Apartment Owners Association' to look after the civic amenities of its residents.
Election to this association to elect its executive body members is being held in every two years.
Election in Kendriya Vihar is all the ingredients of a Parliament election in India.
Your close friend with whom you are moving around every day, suddenly started looking at you as a South, North, West or East Indian, certainly you come to a conclusion that election is fast approaching in Kendriya Vihar.
It is better to avoid morning walks inside the colony as you may have to encounter group of people who may force you to contest for the election no matter whether you are interested or not.
Once the election is announced, the whole colony divided into two groups and engages in full time to device their strategy.
Like Parliament elections in India, there are always lot of false propaganda and assurances to woo the voters.
Normally canvassing takes place only during night as the residents are Government employees and reach home only after 7 PM.
While door to door canvassing, the two groups often may have to face each other.
They just stare at the other group with full of fury and once they clear that spot, both groups start criticizing the other group and make a fun of their ability to win the election.
Propaganda pamphlets used to be pasted in each block during mid night by once group.
The other group sincerely tears off the propaganda pamphlets pasted by the other groups and past their own pamphlets in that place.
This is a continuous process and this activity used to continue till the election is over.
There is always last minute lobbying and both groups try at their best to force few contestants from the other group to withdraw their nominations so that their candidate wins the election unopposed.
Once election is over, the residents who divided into two groups during elections would merge as one and do their best to look after the welfare of the colony.
It is one of the biggest positive points in Kendriya Vihar.
