Tea Towel Flower Directions
- 1). Make an elegant lily, reminiscent of a bird of paradise, out of an everyday tea towel. Wash and dry the linen tea towel. Spray it with a thin layer of spray starch. Run a hot iron over the towel.
- 2). Lay the tea towel flat on a clean surface in front of you. Grasp the top left and top right corners and pull them straight down so that they touch the bottom left and bottom right corners, reducing the tea towel's surface area by half. Notice that the open end of the tea towel will face you. Grasp the top and bottom left corners and pull them over so that they touch the top and bottom right corners of the towel, which should now be 1/4 of its original size.
- 3). Pinch the bottom left corner and top right corner of the towel between your thumbs and forefingers. Fold the tea towel together towards the center with an accordion fold. Keep the top and bottom ends of the towel open.
- 4). Fold the tea towel in half at its center so that the top and bottom ends now both point up in a "v" shape. Place the folded towel in a wine glass or glass of your choice.
- 5). Gently loosen the tight folds by pulling apart the loose corners with your fingers until the corners of each fold are evenly distributed across the space above the glass.
