How to Get a New Number on Your iPhone Using a T-Mobile Prepaid SIM
- 1). Call customer services at your cell phone network provider from the iPhone. Tell the network operator you want the iPhone unlocked. The handset might be unlocked immediately, or it might take a couple of days before the update is completed, depending on your network carrier's process.
- 2). Insert the SIM card tool that came with the iPhone into the small hole on top of the device, next to the SIM card tray. The SIM card tray ejects as you push the tool into the hole.
- 3). Replace the existing SIM card with your T-Mobile prepaid SIM card, and reinsert the SIM card tray. Push the tray down firmly until it's flush with the iPhone's housing.
- 4). Register the new SIM card as per the carrier's procedure, which are detailed in the SIM card's instructions.
- 5). Launch the "Settings" application, and tap "Phone." Your new number is displayed at the top of the screen.
