How to Make Faux Rocks out of Crumpled Brown Paper
- 1). Crumple several newspaper sheets into balls as tightly as you can. Wrap masking tape around each ball, so it does not fall apart.
- 2). Place these balls together into any configuration you like. Wrap a sheet of newspaper around them as tightly as you can. Wrap a few strips of masking tape around it.
- 3). Crumple up enough sheets of brown paper to cover the newspaper rock. Unfold the crumpled paper sheets.
- 4). Brush a thin layer of school glue over the newspaper rock structure. Wait 30 seconds. Gently press the construction paper sheets on the glue.You can tear the sheets with your hands or cut them with safety scissors to fit the rock shape.
- 5). Dip the art sponge into a dish of tempera paint. Squeeze out as much excess paint as you can. Gently dab a few areas of the construction paper to create highlights or simulate moss growth.
