Camp is a fun experience for virtually everyone who participates. Aside from making new and reuniting with old friends, part of the experience is learning new skills and making crafts. Teenagers may not enjoy the same projects as the younger campers, but there are quite a few practical and fun crafts for them to tackle. - One of the most exciting and important steps in a teenager's life is getting that cherished driver's license. Teens are often passionate about not only being able to drive, but the independence that comes with it and creating a personalized key chain is a great way to get their creative juices flowing. Woven, braided or beaded chains are easy to make and do not require a lot of expensive materials. Used bottle caps, beads, charms and even tiny picture frames are fun materials that provide a fantastic way for campers to personalize their craft into something that they will enjoy for many years to come.
- Returning back to school after a fun-filled summer may not be on the minds of most teenage campers, especially during balmy summer nights and days spent swimming, but creating a fun craft for use in school lockers may make returning in the fall something to look forward to. There are a variety of crafts such as decorative mirrors, personalized picture frames, magnetic holders for pencils and other desk accessories, as well as hangers for jackets, hats and scarves. Camp crafts are often fun to make, but not very practical. Locker decorations will give their projects a future purpose.
- It seems that the style of the hippies may never go out of fashion. Between bell-bottoms and large rimmed sunglasses, teenagers tend to gravitate toward the styles of long ago, and tie-dying is no exception. However, tie-dying is not just for t-shirts. Teens can dye pillowcases, towels, socks, shorts, bags or just about any cotton-based material. All you need are some buckets, water, inexpensive dye in a variety of colors, rubber bands and gloves. Teenagers can use their imaginations and make one-of-a-kind creations for family, friends, or themselves.
